founder & Maker

All the fun and color of Maebel literally began with a bag of "trash". A basement was being cleared out and anything I didn't take with me was going to be donated or thrown away. Among the many treasures I came home with, what turned out to be the most wonderful was a contractor size bag of leather pieces and scraps. That unassuming bag of color, texture and wonderful smells changed the path of my life and cemented one of the main values of my work - reducing waste by obtaining my leather second hand as often as possible.

MEET STACEY

I started making jewelry and more recently, artwork with something that would have otherwise been discarded and I have made it a priority to continue sourcing leather from artisans and companies who have already used the bulk of the hides they needed. I call these leftovers salvaged leather. I salvage the remnants that other makers cannot use and create something new and lovely.

I am available for commissions, collaborations, wholesale inquiries and special projects. I would love to hear from you!
